Legislation Session 2026 Preliminary Report
Hi everyone, Now that we are in January we are starting our state legislative session soon. Our 2026 legislative session is scheduled to run from 01/13/26 to 03/13/26. There will be a LOT of movement and chaos during this time, so be sure to keep an eye on when this document was last updated and pay attention to multiple sources to see where bills are currently at and going. I will be putting to light bills that are currently being looked at/possibly being introduced into the

Background Screening SignUp/Info- Update Dec. 2025
Hi everyone, I have finished my new round of fingerprints for the licensure renewal procedure (as well as joining the Counseling Compact if you are an LMHC and wish to do this.) I figured it would be helpful to go through how to exactly get this situated. First up, the website that you use to actually do this: https://flhealthsource.gov/background-screening/ Select "Initiate a New Screening" It will ask you to look on the CHAI portal. You will find that here: https://chai.flc

ACA Marketplace and Health Insurance Premium Changes 2026
Hi everyone, Now that open enrollment has started for most everyone, I wanted to give a rundown of what to expect on the Florida ACA Marketplace this next year and some stats to keep everyone in the loop and prepared for what is to come. Note: this at present (11/12/25) is based on the enhanced ACA subsidies expiring with NO recourse set forth by this current Congress. Should this change I will update this post. TL;DR: Health insurance is getting (in many cases, way) more exp

Invoices
Hi everyone, So I've been getting some PMs regarding how to best keep invoices since that is becoming an add-on concern with clinicians going in front of the board and not keeping proper medical records. So I figured it would be helpful to give a little rundown. Yes, payment invoices are part of the medical record. So you need to be invoicing for every appointment you meet with a patient. This applies with insurance patients and self-pay. You can get lax with this if your EHR
